What is metabolism?
, 07 29th, 2008What is metabolism?
If we think of our bodies an engines and what it takes to keep it running it is easy. Our metabolic rate is the speed at which our engine (body) burns fuel (calories). If you are a big lumberjack that works hard you have a bigger engine than a person that does very little activity. The lumberjack and the inactive person have different requirements to keep the engine running smoothly. Here are some ways to you can rev up your engine: by drinking 8 glasses of water daily, eating proper healthy meals, get more physical activity, build more muscle, get plenty of sleep. Calories are burned by muscle, not fat. Build muscle a little at a time if necessary, but do it. You will be happy you did.
